Happy people studying buddhism and meditation in Huddersfield.

In Depth Study Classes

If you have been attending weekly drop-in classes for a while and would like to deepen your understanding and experience of meditation and Kadampa Buddhism then why not consider joining our Foundation Programme (FP) or Teacher Training Programme (TTP). On FP and TTP you will have an opportunity to study one of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s texts in more detail and engage in paired and group discussions to deepen your experience.

Foundation Programme

Foundation Programme (FP) provides the opportunity to engage in a more in-depth and structured approach to the practice of meditation and Buddhism. In this way we can gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of Buddha’s teachings, develop a powerful meditation practice, and bring about a positive transformation in our mind.

Foundation Programme is for those people who wish to build a solid foundation and experience of Buddhist teachings.

Joining the Foundation Programme involves enrolling to study one book (or section of a book), attending all the classes and sitting an exam at the end of the book or section. Each class consists of chanted prayers, a guided meditation, teaching and discussion.

The current book being studied on Foundation Programme is ‘How To Understand The Mind’. This book offers us a deep insight into our mind, and shows how an understanding of its nature and functions can be used practically in everyday experience to improve our lives.

Through studying and practising the instructions contained in this precious book – How To Understand The Mind – we will receive practical guidance to develop and maintain a light, positive mind – showing how to recognize and abandon states of mind that harm us, and to replace them with peaceful and beneficial ones.

You can try 3-4 classes of FP before deciding to join for the Programme. For more information email epc@meditateinhuddersfield.org.

Qualified Teachers need both . We are currently studying 'Ocean of Nectar'.
